Essaouira is a great destination in Morocco on the Atlantic coast. A short distance only (15 minutes) from the old Mogador (the former colonial name for Essaouira), the guest house of Dar Laulivier awaits you. For a short stay or a few nights come and discover the heart of the forest of Arganiers (local trees) with views of the Atlas. Our bed and breakfast is 10 minutes only from the beach, in a unique setting, a haven of peace and relaxation. Prices are shown in MAD, the local Morrocco Dirham.
The Dar Laulivier guesthouse lies within the Haha region - the southern region of Essaouira -, which is distinct from the northern region (Chiadma) by its immense forests of argan trees (cedar forests). The harvesting and processing of argan walnuts is a woman's responsibility. They are organized into several cooperatives across the province of Essaouira and produce a cooking oil with a strong smell of hazelnut oil and a cosmetic that is used for body care and hair. Many of these argan trees cover our ancestral land, and of course it was impossible for us to take them down. Our guest house is a new building organized around a beautiful pool and performed in a traditional Moroccan style, with noble materials such as brick, stone and lime mortar while integrating all elements of modern comforts. The house revolves around these argan trees, creating many patios where it is a pleasure to have a mint tea, or simply to enjoy the sun, overlooking the Atlas... |
